About Sid Meier's Civilization V

Sid Meier's Civilization V is a turn-based strategy game in which players lead a civilization from the ancient era through the future. Players found cities, research technologies, build improvements, train military units, and engage in diplomacy with AI or human opponents. Victory can be achieved through domination, science, culture, diplomacy, or by having the highest score when time runs out. The game features a hex-based tile system, city-states as minor factions, and ranged combat that prevents unit stacking on a single tile.

ELO progression

Score moved from 1,500 to 1,857 ELO points over the last 123 days.

I picked it up during a slow winter and ended up finishing three full campaigns before spring.

I did that once too, a rainy October with nothing else going on, ended up restarting my save more than actually finishing it.

Not perfect diplomacy, but the core loop still holds up better than most recent strategy games.

my dad and i used to play this on weekends, he always builded wonders while i just spammed units and lost anyway

I kept restarting because my capital always got rushed early, restarting became the actual game for me honestly.

    TurboLegend

Restarting because of a rushed capital taught me more about placement than any tutorial ever did, and that's the REAL game people forget to mention.
