Mirror's Edge is a first-person action-adventure game focused on parkour and free-running. Set in a heavily surveilled city, players control Faith, a courier who traverses rooftops using wall-runs, jumps, and slides to deliver sensitive information. The gameplay emphasizes momentum and fluid movement over combat, with a focus on finding the fastest path through urban environments.

Portal 2 gets all the puzzle box praise but honestly the sense of momentum here, once you get it, nothing else touches it, not even close, well maybe close

Miss when running felt new, before the sequels came.

Close how exactly? The combat you mention is the exact reason people bounce off this after two hours.

Momentum this, momentum that, doesn't stop the combat from grinding the whole thing to a halt.
Audreanne_1999
Yeah the flow argument is fair, doesn't change that half the levels stall the second combat shows up.

Grinding to a halt is right (the wall-run recovery time never felt tuned properly to me).

You'll say Portal 2 wins on design and Assassin's Creed on scope, but this one earns its spot for how it feels to move, and that's rare enough to matter in a ranking like this.

So it's not perfect, the story barely holds together, but the running itself still feels better than most parkour games that came after it

Comparado con Assassin's Creed II, este va directo al grano: nada de mapas llenos de iconos, solo tú y los tejados.

Agreed, the icon clutter is exactly what wore me out on the other one, this game trusts you to just look and jump
