The gunplay holds up fine, the story barely holds together at all.

Played it right after release, lights off, jumped every time.

Next to Call of Duty 4 it feels slower and heavier, but the encounters stay tense far longer.

I remember it being scarier back then, or maybe I was just younger and jumpier.

The lighting engine was impressive for its time, but the frame pacing on my old rig never felt smooth even then.

Not sure it earns the hype, the shooting is good but the scares fade fast for me.
