About Final Fantasy X

Final Fantasy X is the tenth main installment in the FF series and the first title released on sixth-generation consoles. It was also the first game to feature fully three-dimensional areas rather than including pre-rendered backdrops, and the first to include voice acting. Final Fantasy X tells the story of a star blitzball player, Tidus, who journeys with a young and beautiful summoner named Yuna on her quest to save the world of Spira from an endless cycle of destruction wrought by the colossal menace Sin.

I was probably around twelve when a friend lent me his copy, and I remember the summon animations taking forever but nobody complaining, we just watched every time like it was new.

So I keep seeing this game paired against Deus Ex and Disco Elysium in these duels, and honestly the tone gap is huge, one's a linear coming of age story with summons and blitzball, the others are all about branching dialogue and player agency, and yet somehow it holds its own every single time, which says something about how people actually vote here, not just genre matching.

I never finished it in one go, always came back months later and picked up right where I left (my save file survived way longer than my patience did).

Same here, or rather not quite the same, I came back for the story but stayed annoyed at how slow encounters got by the end.
