I keep seeing people put this above stuff like Borderlands 2 in these duels and I genuinely don't get the reasoning, like sure the roleplaying angle is neat…

I keep seeing people put this above stuff like Borderlands 2 in these duels and I genuinely don't get the reasoning, like sure the roleplaying angle is neat but the actual moment to moment stuff never held up for me, not even a little.

Combat feels stiff even by the standards of its own year.

Tsushima gana ahí fácil.

Why does this keep getting ranked so low when people clearly still talk about it constantly? Is nostalgia really carrying it this hard, or am I missing something everyone else sees?

That kind of memory is exactly why I don't buy the RDR comparisons, the games aren't even trying to do the same thing.
