About The Sims

The Sims is a life-building simulation with emphasis on intimate details of individual characters rather than expansion of an entire society or civilization. You are in control of nearly every aspect of the lives of the individuals who make up your chosen population in the neighborhood. Characters are developed from the ground up and you infuse and mold them with personalities, looks, desires, moods, urges, living arrangements, career and personal choices, life styles, and reactions.

Sheer influence doesn't earn a ranking spot on its own, the actual gameplay loop is thin and repetitive once the novelty wears off.

Influencia no es lo mismo que calidad, y aquí se confunden todo el tiempo.

Ma sœur et moi partagions un compte. She always deleted the pool ladder.

    Classic sibling warfare...

What holds up for me is how much personality it gives characters without a story forcing them anywhere, you just watch behavior emerge from simple wants and it still feels alive today. That alone justifies a top 100 spot even against flashier sandbox games.

Same, except my behavior emerging was mostly starting fires.

I played it on a family computer that three of us shared, so my saves kept getting overwritten by my brother's households.

I get why people love it but as a sandbox it feels thin compared to what came after, the systems are shallow once you strip away the personalities layer. It still earns its spot from sheer influence, but I think the nostalgia does a lot of heavy lifting in these duels.
