About Subnautica

Descend into the depths of an alien underwater world filled with wonder and peril. Craft equipment, pilot submarines and out-smart wildlife to explore lush coral reefs, volcanoes, cave systems, and more, all while trying to survive.

The community says

Loading between biomes is smooth and the sub controls hold up fine years later. Rank feels low given how well it plays today.

ELO progression

Score moved from 1,500 to 1,772 ELO points over the last 170 days.

People keep pitting this against Fallout: New Vegas like they're the same kind of experience. One's about survival tension, the other about choices piling up, comparing them feels off.

    SilentKid2003

  3. BossOwl1995

not sure why this sits at 467 with a 67% win rate, feels low for how much people praise it. the crafting loop is fun for a while but the back half drags and the tension just fades once you know the map

my roommate would just watch me pilot the sub around while she did homework, she never touched the controller once

    edwardo_schulist

Wait, so the tension just DISAPPEARS once you learn the map? I never felt that way, for me the fear came back every time I found a new biome, is that just me

Correction, calm is exactly the point, it's basically a spa day with jump scares

    Donato_1990

Disagree, the back half is where the real base building payoff kicks in.

    LootAce
