a game that nails atmosphere better than almost anything from its era, though the side content stretches on way past where it should stop

Is it the villain everyone remembers or the island itself that keeps people talking about this one? I feel like the story gets praised but the actual shooting loop is rarely mentioned.

Pareil, à deux manettes qui passaient de main en main, jamais fini en solo.

Y aquí seguimos comparando isla contra desierto, isla que gana en atmósfera pero pierde claramente contra la libertad de New Vegas en las votaciones.

This game completely rewired what I expected from an open world shooter, the villain alone makes every mission feel dangerous, and I still think about the island whenever someone mentions vacation spots!!

Yes, exactly, the villain hooked me the same way, still my most quoted game when friends ask what to play.

    Homenick28

Dangerous how? The island itself never scared me half as much as he did.

I bought this used from a friend who was moving out of town, played it that whole summer between shifts at my first job, and the radio tower climbing became this weird ritual I looked forward to more than the missions themselves.

Played through it twice on PS3, the gunplay holds up better than the climbing animations do, aiming feels tight even now while the traversal shows its age fast.

    Same here, both playthroughs.
