About Papers, Please

The communist state of Arstotzka has just ended a 6-year war with neighboring Kolechia and reclaimed its rightful half of the border town, Grestin. Your job as immigration inspector is to control the flow of people entering the Arstotzkan side of Grestin from Kolechia. Among the throngs of immigrants and visitors looking for work are hidden smugglers, spies, and terrorists. Using only the documents provided by travelers and the Ministry of Admission's primitive inspect, search, and fingerprint systems you must decide who can enter Arstotzka and who will be turned away or arrested.

It always ends up compared to the Walking Dead games but honestly the tone and the goal are so diferent that the comparaison barely makes sense to me

Diferent, oui, mais surtout moins marquant sur la durée, le souvenir s'efface plus vite je trouve...

A mí me tocó jugarlo con mi hermano mirando por encima del hombro, y créanme que discutíamos por cada sello mal puesto

The puzzle framing gets repeated a lot in these threads but the actual moment to moment play is closer to a checklist than a real puzzle, and the tension comes from the timer more than any clever design, the timer does the heavy lifting here honestly, heavy lifting that other games achieve without leaning on a clock

  3. feil_oma

I get the appeal but 417th feels a bit generous honestly

  4. Eloisa_40

Comparing it to the Walking Dead games is unfair, this one has zero emotional payoff, just stamps and quotas

    GhostKnight2

You guys keep bringing up the Walking Dead games, but Fate of Atlantis handled dread and choice way better decades earlier honestly

    Marrant, moi c'est l'inverse, l'angoisse m'a plus pris ici qu'ailleur

Un jeu où on tamponne des papiers 400e au classement mondial, il y a pire, mais franchement j'attendais mieux comme place

    GlitchByte51

The stamping loop drags a bit late game, sure, but is 400th really where you'd put it?

    CritWolf

Pourquoi défendre une place aussi basse quand j'ai vu des potes le lâcher après une heure de jeu à peine

    IronHunter82

Tight design, sure, but way too repetitive for me to call it underrated

    Donato_1990

The stamps thing gets mocked but the loop itself runs smooth, no lag between checks even on old hardware, that part deserved a better rank
