Compared to Uncharted 2, this trades spectacle for stillness, and honestly that's a trade I'll take most days of the week.
NeonDragon
I keep going back and forth on this one, honestly, because the atmosphere and the sound design are genuinely some of the best I've experienced in years, but then I remember how thin the actual challenge is and it kind of deflates the whole thing for me.
CoopRider2008
juanita56
It nails the mood completely, though the story wraps up faster than I wanted.
CoopKnight4
Funny how nobody mentions Portal's pacing when this comes up, both live or die on tone over length.
Isabel_19
The story wraps up fast because there wasn't much story to wrap up in the first place, right?
Audrey_55
I only played it in short bursts over a couple weeks, never marathon sessions, and it still stuck with me more than most longer games I've finished this year.
LootRex2
ElainaPilot
Assassin's Creed II throws sidequests and cities at you for forty hours. This one hands you a smaller world and trusts you to enjoy it slowly, and somehow that works better for me.
suzanne16
It's short and the puzzles are simple, but wandering around as a cat in that city stuck with me longer than most longer games do.
Gonzalez2008
CritWolf12
If the puzzles are basically absent, what exactly justifies ranking it above heavier adventure games?
TurboSamurai2007
Fair, though I'd say coasting is the point here, not a flaw like it would be elsewhere.

Rowena_2009
It's a gorgeous walk in a nice world, ngl, but calling it a top tier adventure game feels like a stretch to me tbh.
Donato_1990
The atmosphere carries it, sure, but Portal's puzzle logic is on another LEVEL entirely, no contest there.
Geraldine_2001
People compare it to Portal a lot because of the atmosphere, but Portal actually challenges you constantly while this one lets you coast through most rooms.
descamps_frederique
EmileWarden
Beautiful sure, but the puzzle design is thin compared to what it's usually stacked against in these duels.
Coop_Ferrer
lubowitz_brock
Played it during a heat wave last summer with the AC barely working, and even then the game couldn't hold my attention past the first areas.
gdicki
Played it right after Portal 2, weird pairing I know, but the quiet parts hit differently...
NeonRider
QuestDragon93
Quiet parts hit you, sure, but isn't that just because nothing else is asking much of you at that moment?
FrameLegend2010
PixelDragon2
I only put in maybe ten hours total across a few sittings, but even at that pace the quiet stretches never felt like padding to me, anyone else feel the same?
QuestRex5
Why does everyone rank this so high when the actual gameplay loop is basically walk, jump, occasional puzzle? Am I missing something?
CritRunner70
Falta algo, dice.
Lynn_2005
My daughter calls it the walk sim with the cat, and honestly that's not far off from why it keeps winning.
RogueSniper

The walk sim label stings a bit, but honestly the puzzle content backs up that joke more than people want to admit.
froyer

Fair point on the pacing gap, though Stray never tries to be Portal's kind of challenge in the first place.
FrameKid
CoopRider
Two afternoons matches my run too, but I'd take that over the forty hours Assassin's Creed II pads with filler.
Kris94
Two sittings versus Portal 2's puzzle chains says a lot about how thin the actual content is here.
