I'll admit I'm not neutral here, but next to Hades this one just rewards patience differently, and I'll pick that every time.

Slay the Spire is a single-player roguelike deck-building game. Players choose from four characters, each with a unique set of cards, and attempt to climb a procedurally generated spire consisting of multiple floors of increasingly difficult enemies and bosses. Combat uses a card-based system where players build and refine their deck on the fly from rewards earned through encounters. Between battles, players collect relics that provide permanent buffs and make strategic choices about which paths to take, which cards to add or remove, and how to spend limited resources. The game is widely credited with popularizing the roguelike deck-building genre.

Why does this game sit at 21st when it keeps beating everything near the top? Or maybe I'm just biased because I've sunk way too many runs into it. Every ascension teaches you something new about deckbuilding, and the win rate speaks for itself, doesn't it? I genuinely don't get why people rank strategy games with slower loops so much higher when this one rewards mastery so directly.

Qué curioso, ¿no?
