Compared to Uncharted 4 it feels almost punishing in how little it gives you, no set pieces holding your hand, just a corridor and your nerves. I love both but…

Resident Evil 2 is a sequel to the first Resident Evil title. Like the previous game in the series, Resident Evil 2 is a 3D action-adventure using three-dimensional polygon characters over two-dimensional pre-rendered backgrounds, with the action viewed through a variety of cinematic fixed camera angles in each room. Players can choose to play as one of two possible characters; each goes through the same initial scenario but with differences in the type of weaponry they find and the people they meet along the way.

Comparing this to The Last of Us feels almost unfair, one makes you manage four bullets like they're gold and the other lets you cry through a cinematic. Both work, but my inventory anxiety says RE2 wins.

Still the gold standard for tension (fight me on this one).

why does everyone assume the fixed camera angles are a limitation rather than the whole point of the design?

Maybe, but the ELO score says otherwise.
