Went back to it recently instead of trusting old memories, the stealth systems still hold up shockingly well, or rather the core loop does, the mission structure repeating itself is what actually drags it down against modern open worlds.

    Álvaro_72

  2. Bayer15

So this keeps popping up in my queue and I only ever check the score, don't even remember who won last time

    LootRex2

  3. ArcadeAce4

Overpraised for the systems, underdiscussed for the ending. That imbalance is exactly why it sits mid pack.

    JazlynMaster

My kid started copying my approach in the missions, coming up with his own dumb plans, watching him get creative with it made me appreciate the systems even more.

    CosmoHunter49

Went back to it last spring during a move, between boxes, and the ending still felt like something got cut before it was ready.

    Neon_Buisson

Underdiscussed, vraiment ?

Same duel comes up every few weeks and honestly my answer never changes, so here it is again.

I picked this up during a slow stretch at a new job, played it in the evenings mostly alone, thinking it would feel like Uncharted 4 with more freedom, turned out to be its own thing entirely, or maybe not entirely, but close enough that comparing them feels a bit pointless now.

    Toy58

I only play an hour or two a week and honestly that pace suits it perfectly, each session feels like its own little plan.

  6. CritMaster95

Picked this up during a rough winter a couple years back, the missions blurred together after a while but the good stretches still stick with me

    LootFox

  7. CosmoSniper3

Why does everyone act like the back half kills it, why not judge it on the missions that actually work, the gunplay and the AI reactions still hold up better than most stuff that came after it

    Celia_44

  8. SammieDragon

Yeah I said it, I'm biased, this game gets way more credit than the second half deserves.

    FrameRex2

Bias confirmed, case closed, somebody get this jury a verdict form lol, though I'll admit the vote counts don't lie either way

    Hoppe54

The AI reactions are the real achievement here, guards actually adapt to your patterns across missions, that alone justifies most of the praise.

Ce qui le sépare de The Last of Us, c'est le rythme : ici on invente sa propre approche, là bas on suit un scénario qui décide pour nous.

    VinylRex

Wasn't that the whole point though, making your own story instead of watching one unfold?

  10. IronKid2

    MertieHunter

Compared to what open worlds do now, the missions repeating themselves stands out more than it did in 2015, that part hasn't aged as well.

    CoopKnight4

Funny how every duel thread ends up circling back to the same repeated missions complaint, the voting pattern barely moves either way.

    Moral2003

    Antonette_77

Ten strategies but the same three missions recycled. That's not depth.

    ratke_candido

Replayed the same outpost with a buddy watching, we tried five different loadouts before dinner got cold.

  13. DavidRider

    CoopAce

Same here, replayed a mission with full gadget freedom recently and the systems still hold up even when the plot threads don't

    ArcadeHunter

    roob_joe

More freedom doesn't fix an unfinished back half. Watch Dogs at least commits to what it is.

    QuestRex5

    Replying to roob_joe

Same feeling here, all that freedom and I still remember the missions blending into each other by the end.

    CoopPhoenix2010

    barton_alaina

Vacation binge for me too, though mine was cut short by work calls, still remember rushing back to that save file.
