About Bayonetta

A member of an ancient witch clan and possessing powers beyond the comprehension of mere mortals, Bayonetta faces-off against countless angelic enemies, many reaching epic proportions, in a game of 100% pure, unadulterated all-out action. Outlandish finishing moves are performed with balletic grace as Bayonetta flows from one fight to another. With magnificent over-the-top action taking place in stages that are a veritable theme park of exciting attractions, Bayonetta pushes the limits of the action genre, bringing to life its fast-paced, dynamic climax combat.

Still one of the most fluid combat systems out there, why isn't that worth more here?

Pero el ritmo de combate es justamente lo que la hace destacar entre tantos otros del género, no crees?

Back when this dropped I was convinced it would define the genre going forward, and honestly I'm a bit surprised seeing it sit at 181st, feels low for something that changed how fast these games could move

funny how 181st gets called low here, I checked back after seeing this, guess votes just don't match the memories...

The combat design is genuinely ahead of its time, the way it rewards precision without punishing experimentation is rare. The tone and humor won't land for everyone though, and I get why that turns some people off completely.

Depth-wise Hades wins on structure, but nothing moves like Bayonetta when you're mid-combo.

Played it at a friend's place over a weekend, we just kept passing the controller back and forth trying to beat each other's combo scores. Barely slept those two days.

I remember getting this on release week and being floored, nothing on 360 or PS3 moved like this, the combo system alone kept me up way past when I should've gone to bed, still holds a spot in my top list

I get the nostalgia but the combos age less gracefully than people claim, some inputs feel stiff compared to what came after it
