Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 est une adaptation du film du même nom. Le joueur incarne Harry Potter dans sa quête pour trouver les Horcruxes, source de l'immortalité du villain. Le gameplay est similaire à Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, car c'est un jeu d'action vidéo, et non un jeu vidéo de fabrication de potions, de Quidditch ou d'exploration de Hogwarts. Il n'y a pas d'itération RPG du jeu, contrairement aux titres précédents.
