About Night in the Woods

Night In The Woods is an adventure game heavily focused on story, characters and exploration, with some platforming to get around town. Mae's a cat so the roofs and ledges and powerlines are all her playground, and she's not the only one up there by a long shot. You'll also be doing various activities and interacting with the world in different ways, getting to know the townspeople, hanging out with friends, exploring Possum Springs inside and out, and venturing into the surrounding areas.

not gonna lie, haven't finished it yet, but what I've played so far feels honest even when it stumbles a bit, you know?

I've replayed it maybe 3 times now and each time I notice the platforming is really just a way to get from conversation to conversation, nothing more.

The platforming doesn't need to carry the game, it just needs to hold the walk between scenes.

Played it during a rough autumn a few years back, and honestly the ranking feels beside the point when I remember that.

Honestly this game means a lot to me (I know I say that about too many games) but the way it handles small town boredom and friendship just hits different every single time I return to it.

the friendship stuff sticks with me too but I keep coming back to Uncharted for a completely different itch, pure momentum.
