SaveByte40
Same argument every thread, more freedom would help sure, but at 282nd this is already about where it belongs
ziemann_eudora
Went back to it last spring during a work trip, quiet hotel nights, still holds up as comfort gaming
CritMaster95
Got through it during a slow autumn and it stuck with me more than expected
RetroSniper19
Iron_Mitchell
The traversal is what holds my attention, the way climbing and shooting blend without a hard switch between modes, everything else around it feels more ordinary in comparison
QuestDragon2008
The traversal argument holds up for me too, it's what kept me coming back even when other parts felt weaker
Corwin18
My roommate watched me play the whole thing over two evenings, snacks included, and kept asking why the character was constantly injured, it says something that the spectacle carried more weight than the puzzles ever did
LuckyAce2
Spectacle over puzzles isn't a compliment, it just means the game picked the easier thing to get right.
Jacques_85
Lucky_Jacobi
Every duel thread turns into the same argument about whether a remaster deserves its own ranking, I've made peace with just voting and moving on at this point
BossRex
Why does a remaster get to climb the same ladder as games built from scratch? Doesn't that feel a little off to anyone else?
bayer_jennings
Same thought here, the ranking rewards what it actually improved
SaveHunter
It plays fine and looks better than the original release, but I never felt like this version earned its ranking on its own merits rather than just visual polish
Monroe_68
Genuinely curious, would you still call it fine if it had launched without the visual upgrade at all? I say no, the polish is basically the whole pitch and I'm fine admitting that
davis_lelah
I played this on a rainy weekend when I was between jobs, mostly for the climbing sections, oddly relaxing.
GlitchBard2
NovaRex
So I put this right after finishing Dishonored and the contrast was rough, one game lets you plan your way through a room, this one just points you at the next ledge
GhostByte3
QuestRex5
Does anyone actually compare this version to the original before voting, or do most people just remember it as one game? I ask because the gap between them feels bigger than people give it credit for
NeonKid94
So a re-release beats out originals in some of these duels and somehow that still counts toward its ranking
Homenick28
Anyone else notice how much of that first impression comes from the injuries, not the puzzles? Says a lot about where the budget went
QuestOwl2008
Isn't the reboot's whole point that it earns its place by reinventing the series rather than copying it? Why hold that against the ranking
PixelKnight
This game deserves every bit of that ranking honestly, the visuals alone were a massive leap and the combat finally felt tight and responsive to me
Katelyn_1985
Ranking a re-release "toward" original entries makes the ELO comparison shaky at best, that's the real issue here
