    GlitchBard3

Agreed, the space design alone earns it more respect than it gets.

  2. FrameKid2

  3. VinylAce25

its concpet is great but the framerate hitches in some of the bigger open rooms really break the immersion for me

  4. GhostKnight2

not the first walking sim comparison it'll get, but it plays nothing like Portal 2 once you're actually inside it.

    ziemann_eudora

Played it right after a breakup and the disorientation matched my mood more than any comparison to Portal 2 ever could.

  5. ComboLegend

  6. ArcadeWarden2

played through it again during a slow week off work and forgot how uneasy the early rooms still make me, tbh the color coded gun mechanic near the end drags a bit but the disorientation stuff never stopped working on me.

  7. ArcadeOwl

Went back to it last year expecting it to feel like a relic and it mostly didn't. The core trick of disorientation still lands even knowing what's coming. Some puzzle logic feels dated compared to newer stuff but the spatial ideas hold up fine.

Fez plays tricks with perspective too but Antichamber does it with pure space itself, no gimmick layer on top. Where Fez rewards you for cracking a code, this one rewards you for accepting you can't always predict the rules. Different kind of satisfaction honestly.

    Puente51

It's a strange one to rank because half the fun is not knowing what's happening, and reviews kind of ruin that for you. I think it deserves a solid spot but I get why voters split on it, it's not for everyone and that's fine.

    NovaHunter

"original" gets thrown around a lot here, Fez was doing perspective tricks around the same time and gets half the credit for it.

  10. Océane_1987

    CritAce80

Fair point on framerate, though I'd argue it matters less here since the whole game is built around disorientation anyway. A stutter almost blends into the confusion instead of breaking it.

    Nova_Corwin

Same here, the framerate held up fine on my end even in the rooms that look like they shouldn't render properly.

  11. ComboWarden

  12. EmileWarden

People keep calling it a puzzle masterpiece. It's a corridor with a mood board taped to the walls. The puzzles themselves are thin once you strip away the disorientation trick.

  13. Iron_Shields

Isn't the whole point that it refuses to hold your hand while still being fair if you actually pay attention to the map screen mechanic? I keep seeing people call it a gimmick but I think that's exactly what makes it worth revisiting years later, gimmicks don't usually reward a second playthrough

  14. Pagac35

It gets credit for originality every time but I think people undersell how thin the back half feels. The first hour is genuinely unlike anything else. After that the ideas repeat with less impact each time.

    Katelyn_1985

The gun mechanic near the end runs at a steady clip even in the busiest rooms, that part held up fine for me.

  15. Arcade_Maillard

    BossMaster2010

Oh sure, definitely finished it legit (glances away nervously) definitely didn't alt tab to a guide twice.
