Why does this rank above games with actual design behind them? What exactly are we voting for here, the engine or the memes people made with it?
BossOwl1995
my brother built a whole trap for me once and i fell for it every single time...
VinylOwl
Same energy honestly, my friends and I never needed a goal either.
Iron_Shields
Wasn't the trap basically the whole appeal though, or did the game itself ever pull you back in?
ChaddOwl
People act like no objectives is a flaw, but honestly that's the entire point, and honestly once you get a few tools down it just opens up, I don't know how to explain it better than that.
TurboLegend
CoopRunner
We never touched the tool gun much, just physics gun chaos for hours.
Irma_76
My roommate spent an entire evening just making NPCs fall down stairs and I couldn't stop watching.
IronKid2
suzanne16
Same here, evenings like that are hard to forget.
Mckenna_66
It's not really a game in the traditional sense, more like a toolbox that happens to have a game engine attached, and I think that's exactly why it splits opinion.
Homenick28
toolbox w no goal, so what?
CritSniper85
I sank an embarrassing number of weekends into spawning ragdolls and setting up ridiculous contraptions with friends (I still have screenshots I refuse to delete). No goals, no story, just us laughing at whatever chaos we built. I fully accept I'm biased here, I'll defend this thing forever.
LootNinja25
So the votes clearly favor that kind of chaos, since 62% is nothing to scoff at, but I still wonder if it's the nostalgia talking for most of us.
xkshlerin
mine was less screenshots and more my dad asking why I spent an hour just launching a barrel off a cliff
LootFox
Sesgado dices?
VinylMaster
Minecraft actually gives you something to build toward, this is just a physics toybox with extra steps.
GhostHunter10
barton_alaina
my cousin did almost the exact same thing, endless staircase traps, good times.
FrameLegend2010
CritPlayer7
The votes seem to reward creativity over structure, which explains why it survives duels despite having no real design goals.
