    Frame_Rippin

felt the same rewatching my own matches, the pacing drags but that medieval setting just hits different

  2. GhostPhoenix

tjrs solide niveau gestion des ressources, ça a bien vieilli.

  3. Faivre4

    Green18

Warcraft III has the heroes, this one has the villagers, and honestly the villagers win for me.

  5. Éric_25

    frida_sawayn

My kids fight over who builds the wall faster, so no, it hasn't aged into irrelevance.

    CoopRider

But the thing that actually sets it apart for me is the tech tree branching, my friend and I used to argue for an hour over civ picks before even starting.

Compared to StarCraft II this feels like a relic in terms of pacing, and I say that as someone who respects what it did back then, the AI in campaign missions is still frustratingly passive and the balance holes get exposed fast once you play anyone competitive.

    IrenePlayer

played a match last week, forgot how satisfying the wall building is (my friend still hates me for it), holds up way better than i expected

    Philippine_46

    Save_Gerlach

I don't care how many times this debate loops, the win rate speaks for itself and I'll keep voting the same way every single time.

    Geraldine_2001

I played it on a laptop that overheated constantly, my brother would blow on the vents mid game just to keep our castle standing.

342 duels and 80 percent wins says this ranking is not an accident.

    Altenwerth31

Numbers aside, this is the same game that got me and my roommate through an entire winter of ranked matches instead of studying.

    TurboLegend

played this on and off for yrs with my college roommate, never got as into it as ppl online seem to be, still remember the villager micromanagement fondly tho

    Eloisa_40

Fair enough for the roommate part, but calling the micromanagement fondly remembered doesn't erase how tedious it gets past hour two.

    Gamboa25

    SaveHunter

    En réponse à Aaron_85

Fair point, but does nostalgia really explain why it still wins most of its duels today?

Comparing it to Command & Conquer always feels weird to me because the two games basically wanted different things, one loved chaos and explosions while this one loved patience and economy, and somehow both worked for their own crowd back then.

    Moral2003

  13. FrameRex2

Comparing this to Red Alert 2 feels almost unfair, one is trying to make you laugh and the other takes itself dead serious about castles.

    SammieDragon

Yeah same, tone shift got me too, still team castles over tanks any day.

  14. NeonRider

  15. EmileWarden

Great economy loop, campaigns are hit and miss though.
