    Franchement je ne comprends pas cette place, enfin si un peu, c'est la nostalgie qui joue à fond ici, parce que sur le pur gameplay il y a largement mieux sorti à la même période, la formule est simple jusqu'à en devenir répétitive et les combats aléatoires cassent le rythme d'exploration, alors oui c'est joli, mais joli ne suffit pas à justifier un tel classement.

    Je l'avais emprunté à la médiathèque du quartier, gros pavé de disque, et je m'attendais à un choc après tout ce qu'on m'en avait dit. Résultat, j'ai décroché avant la moitié, les combats trainaient en longueur et rien ne me poussait à continuer.

    Moi aussi j'ai calé en cours de route, mais pour une autre raison, les donjons trop longs.

    Il mérite sa place, clairement. Le classement récompense la constance, pas juste l'effet de surprise, et ce jeu tient la distance duel après duel.

    Me pregunto si este ranking refleja el juego real o solo cuánta gente todavía lo recuerda con cariño... con 89 duelos ya es una muestra grande, pero no sé si eso basta para confiar del todo en la posición.

    Why does nobody talk about how good the pacing is here? The pacing never drags, the story never overstays its welcome, why is that so rare in this genre?

    Ce qui frappe surtout dans le classement, c'est la régularité des votes sur ce jeu (j'y ai passé un été entier chez mon oncle et ça se voit qu'il fidélise).

    Calling it overrated because of nostalgia doesn't explain the win rate though, does it, since new players keep voting for it too.

    Compared to Red Dead, it's slower paced but honestly it holds its own on world and charm.

    The turn based menus are clean and responsive, no lag between inputs even in longer battles. Load times between areas held up fine for a game of its era.

    It's a solid game. It's not a top eighty game though. Random encounters feel dated, the pacing in the middle stretch drags hard, and the story takes way too long to get anywhere interesting. People vote nostalgia here, not quality.

    Against God of War it plays like a different genre entirely, patient where GOW is aggressive, and I respect that WAY more now than I did back then.

    I played this during a long summer with nothing else going on. The combat felt slow compared to what I was used to, but the world design pulled me back in every time.

    84th? Seriously? This game has a 79% win rate in duels and people still act like it's some niche curiosity. The turn based combat is tight, the world is gorgeous, and it deserves to be climbing, not sitting here getting ignored.

    High win rate just means it faces easy match ups, not that it's top 84.

    Yeah the win rate is real, but I think it's partly because casual voters just click the prettier world screenshot, not because the combat itself is that revolutionary, still good though.

    played through this during a rough winter with basically nothing else to do i wasnt into turn based combat before this one changed that for me a bit
