Compared to something like Hades where a run ends in twenty minutes and teaches you something new each time, this world just let you disappear into it for a whole evening without any real goal, and somehow that was the point.

    ChristineRunner

  2. Edgardo_93

fps drops in raids, ui feels ancient tbh, still functional tho

  3. BossOwl1995

honestly not sure why people rank this so low, thousands of people running around the same world at once was wild for its time, does anyone else think that alone deserves more credit than it gets

    ttoy

Impressive at the time sure, but I spent a week in those crowded zones and mostly remember lag, not wonder.

  4. adelbert_jenkins

the sheer scale of it still blows my mind, how does anything else even compare?

    Tromp53

Same feeling here honestly, why do people even keep pushing this duel?

    Ghost_Archuleta

  5. ChaddOwl

People keep throwing Hades at it like it's a fair fight, but one is a tight little loop and the other never really ends, they're not even playing the same game honestly.

I picked it up again during a slow week at work and forgot how much time just evaporates in there.

    LootSamurai87

Same here, one quiet week and suddenly the hours just vanish, that pull never really goes away for me.

    RogueLegend2

Funny you mention time evaporating, mine did the exact same thing except I blame my backlog for the disappearance, not the game itself, honestly.

Every duel I see it lose against God of War I just shrug, the votes here feel more like a mood check than an actual ranking of anything.

    FramePlayer

I had the opposite experience, one evening in and I was hooked for a whole month straight.

    Hoppe54

The vote count over 400 duels says people keep coming back to argue about this, and that's the actual mood check right there.

    Madyson_88

Well, I'd say it's less a mood check, more that people keep finding reasons to vote it up. Why else would it hold seventy percent?

    SammieDragon

Yeah I don't care if it's a mood check, I've voted for it every single time it's shown up and I'll keep doing it.

I keep seeing people compare it to Red Dead Redemption like they're even trying to do the same thing, one is a scripted story you walk through and the other is a world that keeps existing whether you log in or not, feels like an unfair fight honestly.

  9. azemlak

Next to Hades it feels slow, but nothing else lets you get lost like it does.

    rossi_celina

does anyone else remember grinding for hours just to get a mount, i think i spent an entire weeked on it and loved every second

    IronDragon41

Never grinded for a mount myself, just wandered the world with my sister on voice chat for hours.

    SavePhoenix1998

  11. Kihn76

I logged in one summer just to see the old zones again and ended up staying till dawn.

    Pixel_Poirier

    SilentHunter2

I get the pull, but I logged in for one evening and never found my way back after that.

    Thiel1995

funny how staying till dawn is basically the game's real achievement system.

  12. Berge70

not surprised it's this low honestly, an mmo aging against single player epics like god of war just can't compete on nostalgia alone

    Aaron_85

    CritMaster95

I was maybe fifteen, no idea, ask my old guild.

    LlewellynPilot

Still here after all this time, that says enough.

    jana_fritsch

    Replying to LlewellynPilot

Staying till dawn sounds exactly like what happened to me the first time I logged back in!

  14. LuckyMaster
