I keep seeing it praised as if it never ages, but I'm not totally sure the difficulty holds up as well as people claim.
TurboBard95
Difficulty aside, it keeps winning because it never pads itself out waiting for you to notice.
Puente51
WallaceKnight
Why does this still beat games twenty years younger than it in these duels?
Tristan_42
Altenwerth31
Same duel, same result for me too, and I never even left that first vault settlement
Makenna_60
Funny, calling it younger than twenty when for some of us it's basically the whole reason we got into this.
LaurySniper
Found my old save file last week (still had the character name from back then) and just sat there staring at it for a while.
Jameson_1984
People keep calling it timeless like that settles anything (it doesn't), it wins duels because the writing actually holds up.
stephen_schumm
Every duel it wins against something younger feels less like an upset and more like the ranking just confirming what it already knew.
Rae_1990
Every duel against Baldur's Gate II ends the same way for me, close vote, both sides yelling in the comments, and somehow it still climbs.
CritByte

Not sure a broken chip should count more than actual writing when people vote.

Yeah, funny how a broken water chip decided more of my vote than any big lore moment ever did.

Barely remember the plot now, or maybe I just remember the wrong parts.
CoopKnight4
Deserves its spot, simple as that.
Bayer15
Never finished it, only a handful of hours total, but I still remember the first settlement clearly.

Same old PC that overheated, mine had a fan that screamed like it was dying, and somehow that machine still ran this beautifully

IronKnight2004
My roommate and I split the Vault dwellers between us, one reading dialogue out loud while the other rolled the dice on combat.
LlewellynPilot
Same energy here. Split screen time, shared save, still holds up.
Loot_Sanchez
Toujours aussi mordant après tout ce temps. Il mérite chaque victoire.
Aaron_85
hiram_kessler
Feels sharper to me than Baldur's Gate II ever did, less padding, more weight behind every choice you make
Katelyn_1985
Same feeling here, the turn based combat still clicks even now, the interface just take a bit to relearn honestly
AnastasieByte
Donato_1990
The dialogue trees hold up fine, but the interface reminds you constantly how old the engine is.
FrameSamurai2
