Diálogos brillantes. Con eso me basta para defenderlo.
Homenick28
If the dialogue alone is enough for you, doesn't that prove the rest of the game barely needed to exist?
FrameKid
LuckyMaster
Sobrevalorado. Muchas palabras, poco juego.
Carolina_55
Undertale still says more with a bark than half the dialogue trees here manage in three pages.
Reichel2009
Played it during a rough winter. Don't remember much else from that season.
GerhardByte
rough winter, sure, but boring is boring, don't dress it up as atmosphere

Voice acting helps a ton but the interface still shows its age, menus feel clunky when you're switching skills mid dialogue.
NeonDragon
The politics stuff alone makes it worth defending, honestly, way more nuanced than most games even attempt.
Kris94
Replayed it last year expecting the writing to feel dated or overhyped in hindsight, and it really doesn't, the dialogue system still runs circles around most RPGs releasing today.
BossNinja1986
I felt the same skepticism going in, but the writing won me over faster than I expected it to.

Firewatch never asked this much of the player, and it shows in replay value.
prohaska_geraldine
Second playthrough or not, I still think it's carried by hype more than by actual replay value.

130 duels and a 48% win rate feels low for something people call a masterpiece so often, makes me wonder if the fanbase is louder than it is big.
CapucineHunter

Why does a game this dense in choices still manage to never feel like homework?
BossPilot2
McClure30
loved the writing, combat system barely exists tho
RustyRider
combat barely exists, or plutôt it just isn't the point, and that's fine by me
GlitchPilot
Audrey_55
Only got a few sessions in, and the writing is sharp, sure, but I don't think that alone earns it a spot this high over games with tighter design.
SaveByte40
honestly, 394th feels about right and I'm tired of people acting like it's a scandal. it's a good game with a lot of talking, not the second coming of the RPG genre.

azemlak
Compared to Firewatch, this actually lets your choices pile up into something. Isn't that worth more than a scandal?

Tressa_2000
Rough winter or not, I just remember being bored stiff during the slower stretches, that's my whole experience with it.
Rocky_24
Is it really talking heads though, or just dialogue with more weight than combat
mazie25
I get the tiredness, but the first time a skill check argued with itself in my head, I was completely hooked.
BossDragon2
Only put in a few hours, didn't feel the hype everyone talks about.
lacombe_pierre
CoopAce
The skill checks dress up as depth but mechanically they're just dice rolls with better writing on top.
edwardo_schulist
Does the writing actually hold up on a second playthrough, or does the novelty of the skill checks carry most of the first one? Genuinely asking.
GhostByte2
Tromp53
Second playthrough doesn't fix pacing that drags the first time either.
