  2. NovaOwl

I keep seeing this ranked near Elden Ring and Witcher 3 and I just don't get it, those two built entire worlds that felt lived in from the first hour, while this one leans so heavily on nostalgia and fan service that I wonder how it holds up for someone with no history with the original at all, genuinely curious honestly.

    GlitchPilot

    Cortez_1998

on pc it runs smooth enough that the exploring doesn't feel like padding, mechanically it holds up fine

  3. Willie_12

I only get an hour here and there most nights, and even at that pace this thing keeps climbing past stuff like Witcher 3 for me, which says something about how it holds up in short bursts.

    suzanne16

You mention short bursts working well, but doesn't the pull to just talk with the party slow you down even more that way? Curious how you balance it.

  4. LuckyLegend1984

Did anyone else spend way too long just walking around chatting with the party before pushing the story forward?

    Carolina_55

Was it really the exploring or just the sheer number of side activities thrown at you constantly?

    PixelPilot62

People keep arguing pacing like it'll change the ranking. It won't, votes will.

    SilentRunner

  6. Rogue_Williamson

Say what you want about scale, the character moments here hit harder than most open world stuff manages.

    NeonWarden66

Hit harder for me too, but that middle stretch still tests my patience some nights.

  7. jana_fritsch

Compared to XV this actually finishes what it starts, and that alone deserves way more credit!!

    CritRunner70

  8. Tromp53

Calling it a masterpiece while ignoring how bloated some regions feel is getting old fast.

    Green18

Same complaint here after my playthrough this spring.

  9. BerryRunner

okay so apparently loving this game means i'm blind to how it compares to elden ring and witcher 3, sure, except those two never made me tear up over a character death and this one did, so maybe scope isn't the only metric worth caring about here

    GhostWolf

Systems working at once isn't the same as systems working well together, but fine, keep pretending otherwise.

  10. Iron_Shields

Why does everyone act like scale alone should decide these rankings? Doesn't the combat depth here matter just as much as anything Elden Ring offers?

  11. CoopKnight4

Its fair to say the pacing drags in the middle stretch, but the character writing carries it through those slower hours pretty well.

    Aaron_85

  12. Pagac35

Played it right after a rough breakup and it kept me company more than I expected.

  13. Élodie_44

    QuestDragon2008

The alchemy point stands for me, though doesn't 303rd undersell how often it wins these duels?

    IronNinja

Chemistry compensating for bloat doesn't earn a higher spot, sorry.

    hiram_kessler

Funny how the same duel keeps splitting people between chemistry and scale, neither side ever budges.

  14. rowe_trystan

I put like forty hours into this and then went back to Elden Ring, and honestly the pacing comparison isn't even close, one lets you breathe and one just keeps piling on activities

    LuckyByte9

    Miles_44

    En respuesta a LuckyByte9

But that's basically my experience too, slow sessions still let the story land, and it climbed past Witcher 3 for me the same way.

  15. HaileyKnight

Every duel feels the same lately, this game against Elden Ring, and I keep voting the same way out of pure HABIT more than conviction at this point.

    juanita56

Same duel fatigue here, but I still think the character writing alone justifies where it sits.
