The co-op with a friend is great fun, but does anyone else find the pacing drags in the middle chapters?

Drags? I replayed it twice this year and never felt bored once.

I picked this up expecting a quick dungeon crawl and ended up stuck negotiating with two NPCs about a well for twenty minutes while my friend fell asleep on the couch next to me. Charming, sure, but it eats time it never gives back.

My roommate and I split-screened this for a whole month and honestly the story stalls so much that we started just messing around with the elements instead of progressing, wich says something.

Every fight becomes a puzzle about fire and water interactions before it becomes an actual fight, and after a while that stops feeling clever and starts feeling like homework.

Played this with my partner on the couch and we spent more time arguing about which elemental combo to use than actually fighting enemies. Somehow that's the best part. My relationship survived, barely, and so did Rivellon.

Did the elemental combos really stay fun after the twentieth fight, or did the novelty wear off for you both eventually?
LuckyHunter
Compared to what Rome: Total War does with strategy, this one actually lets you roleplay while you plan your battles.

I only put in maybe fifteen hours total, but even that was enough to see why people rank this above stuff like Hotel Dusk without much of a fight.
