The puzzle framing gets repeated a lot in these threads but the actual moment to moment play is closer to a checklist than a real puzzle, and the tension comes from the timer more than any clever design, the timer does the heavy lifting here honestly, heavy lifting that other games achieve without leaning on a clock

The fog effects hold up remarkably well, and the sound design carries most of the tension. The combat still feels a bit stiff compared to newer action games though.
Against GTA V it's night and day in pace, but that slowness is exactly why I keep coming back to it between sessions of chaos.
